Complete hospitality TV reference for InnSpire installations. Covers compatibility, smart features by platform, and modern hospitality models. This is the single source of truth for TV hardware decisions.
1. Smart TV Features
Overview of casting, streaming, and smart features on hospitality TVs. Each feature's availability depends on TV platform and OS version — see the platform matrices at the bottom of this section.
Google Cast
| What it does | Guests cast content from their phone/tablet to the hotel TV — movies, photos, music, browser tabs. Works with 5,000+ Cast-enabled apps (YouTube, Spotify, Disney+, etc.). |

Apple AirPlay
| What it does | iOS/macOS screen mirroring and content streaming. Video, audio, photos, full screen mirror from iPhone, iPad, Mac. |

Note on LG Google Cast: LG expanded Google Cast to all webOS 5 Pro:Centric models (US670H, US770H, UR770H, STB-6500) via firmware update. LG is the first manufacturer to support both AirPlay and Google Cast simultaneously on hotel TVs.
4. InnCable Compatibility Matrix
For STB (InnCable) installations, the TV model matters only for serial control — power on/off, volume, input switching. All smart features run on the STB, not the TV.
5. Maintenance Notes
Updating this page
- New TV model: Add to the relevant brand table in Section 2 or 3. Verify smart features against manufacturer specs.
- New feature support: Update the feature matrix in Section 1 for the correct OS version.
- InnCable compatibility: Add to the compatibility matrix in Section 4 after testing serial control on-site.
- Google Cast / AirPlay updates: Samsung and LG are rolling out casting to older models via firmware — check manufacturer announcements quarterly.
Key distinctions
- InnCable (STB) — Smart features run on the Android STB. TV model only matters for serial control (power, volume, input).
- InnSmart — Features run natively on the TV. OS version determines what's available.
- Google Cast "via update" — Requires firmware update from manufacturer. Not automatic. Hotel must request/apply the update.
- "✗ Orsay" — Samsung's legacy pre-Tizen platform. No longer maintained. Plan migration to Tizen models.
